Main Campus

The main campus of the University of Public Administration and Finance is situated in the Eglosheim district – right next to the leafy Favoritepark. The “Favoritepark” S-Bahn station (S 4) is just a three-minute walk away, and it takes about ten minutes to reach the A 81 motorway. The campus offers modern seminar rooms, a library, a canteen and the student village with halls of residence on site – ideal for short distances and studying in a natural setting.

urbanharbor

The urbanharbor campus is situated in Ludwigsburg’s Weststadt – a modern, urban neighbourhood with a creative atmosphere. The railway station can be reached by direct bus, and it is just 10 minutes’ drive from the A 81 motorway. Students study here in a bright, innovative environment.

Bleyle-Quartier

The Bleyle-Quartier campus is centrally located in Ludwigsburg city centre – surrounded by cafés, shops and cultural attractions. The railway station is just a five-minute walk away. Students appreciate the central location and the ease of access to the heart of the city.

Monrepos Lakeside Palace

Monrepos Lake Palace is a 20-minute walk from the university. Fancy a picnic on the lawn, a pedal boat ride or a visit to a beer garden?

Favoritepark

Favoritepark, home to Favorite Palace, is situated right next to the university. In the park, you’ll come across mouflons, deers and other animals.

Neckar

The riverside offers lovely meadows, viewpoints, sun loungers and beer gardens. The riverside is also ideal for walks and cycle rides.

Events and Culture

Pumpkin Exhibition

The pumpkin exhibition at Blühendes Barock is internationally known. Every autumn, pumpkin sculptures are displayed on a specific theme. The exhibition is complemented by the competition to find the largest pumpkin, as well as delicious pumpkin dishes.

Venetian Fair

The Venetian Fair is a true highlight! Across ten different stages, a varied and breathtaking programme of acrobatics, music, drama, comedy, stilt theatre, dance and singing is on offer.

Barock-Christmas Market

Every winter, the Christmas market on the Baroque Market Square is a wonderful place to enjoy the festive season! Whether it’s mulled wine, punch, sausages or langos – there’s something for everyone here. It’s no surprise that the Ludwigsburg Christmas market is considered one of the best in The Länd.

Living and settling in

Student Village

The student village is located directly next to the Favoritepark S-Bahn station and right next to the Reuteallee campus. The hall of residence consists of individual houses and offers single flats as well as shared flats for anywhere between two and ten people (mostly four-person flats). In summer, our students enjoy having barbecues on the meadows of the student village, lying in the sun with a book, or having picnics. In the evenings, the student pub “Schütte”, which is located in the heart of the student village, ensures a great time. Within ten minutes, you can reach three supermarkets, a bank, a pharmacy and various public transport stops.

Königsallee Hall of Residence

The Königsallee hall of residence is a centrally located gem in Ludwigsburg city centre. This modern hall of residence, which opened in 2023, offers accommodation in flats shared by four or eight people and boasts communal areas as well as a green inner courtyard. Thanks to its central location, the railway station, supermarkets, pharamcies, restaurants and bars are all within easy reach. The Studierendenwerk’s university campuses in the Bleyle Quarter and at urbanharbour are also nearby. The hall of residence combines comfort and practicality to create an urban and communal living experience.

You’ll find a dedicated accommodation list on the AStA website. This often features more affordable options than public accommodation exchanges, making it an ideal way to find suitable accommodation in Ludwigsburg and the surrounding area.

Five Universities in Ludwigsburg

For years, the five higher education institutions in Ludwigsburg – the Baden-Württemberg Academy of Performing Arts, the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, Ludwigsburg University of Education, Ludwigsburg Protestant University and Ludwigsburg University of Public Administration and Finance – have been working together: in teaching, in lecture series and at public events. All five institutions wish to intensify this collaboration.

To make this collaboration more visible to students and teaching staff, as well as to the citizens of Ludwigsburg, the five higher education institutions intend to identify joint events with a new logo. This is also intended to highlight Ludwigsburg’s significance as an educational hub, home to five academies and higher education institutions.

On the visual design: Concept idea – constellation

The stars are a visual symbol of the connection and network between the five sites. The concept of the universe is understood here as a boundless space that offers space for continuous growth, development and change. Depicting the sites as a constellation emphasises not only their geographical links, but also the conceptual interconnection and interdependence of the respective locations within the Ludwigsburg site. The constellation is not static, but flexible and adaptable – much like the universe itself. It can change shape and rearrange itself, symbolising the continuous transformation and interplay of the five sites. This adaptability is also reflected in the logo’s ability to take on different forms depending on its purpose. For example, it could take the form of a roof connecting the sites, or the shape of letters such as ‘U’ or ‘V’. In this form, the logo emphasises not only the physical proximity of the sites, but also their interrelationship and the potential for new connections and developments. The constellation becomes a vibrant, symbolic representation of a forward-looking and interconnected structure within the Univers Education network.
